States with the most library book sales
Updated October 8, 2026. We currently track 2,109 active listings — 1,726 dated sales in the next 365 days and 383 year-round library bookstores — across 51 states and 1,120 cities. Every figure on this page comes from our own listings database.
Ranking by total listings
How we count
A listing counts once per sale event. “Upcoming” means a dated sale whose end date is today or later and that starts within the next 365 days. “Year-round” means a permanent Friends of the Library bookstore or ongoing book nook with no fixed sale date. Counts reflect what our directory has verified, so states with more active Friends groups publishing their schedules online will rank higher than states that publicize sales offline.
